Patricia "Pat" Louise (Madden) Schultheis, 85, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at Northcrest Rehab and Nursing Center in Napoleon, Ohio.
Born October 26, 1939, in Moline, Illinois, to William "Shorty" Madden and Brunell "Lynn" Madden, Pat dedicated her life to caring for others. She spent 20 years in the healthcare field, serving as an aide at Heartland Nursing in Wauseon, Ohio, and Browning Masonic Assisted Living in Waterville, Ohio, until her retirement.
Pat was married to Steven George Schultheis until his untimely passing in 1994. A loving mother of nine children, she found joy in simple pleasures - listening to Elvis, dancing, and gatherings with her large, cherished family but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven George Schultheis; her parents, William "Shorty" Madden and Brunell "Lynn" Madden; siblings, Charles "Chuck" Madden, Barbara (Lloyd) Madden Kemp, and Joyce (William) Madden Cover; daughter Patti Jo (Cover) Sperling; and grandchildren Nathan Allen Cover, John Michael Burks, and Bryce Monroe Schultheis.
Pat is survived by her sister Helen (Madden) Schultheis of Liberty Center, Ohio; and eight children: Duane Eugene Cover of Liberty Center, Ohio; Christy Kay (Cover) Whitson of Somerset, Kentucky; Kimberly Sue (Cover) Nicklaus of Napoleon, Ohio; Stephen Dean Schultheis of Toledo, Ohio; Mitchell Millard Schultheis of Napoleon, Ohio; Dean Monroe Schultheis of Napoleon, Ohio; Lynn Ann (Schultheis) Vela of Napoleon, Ohio; and Lee Kenneth Schultheis of Napoleon, Ohio. Her legacy continues through 24 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
In accordance with her wishes, Patricia was cremated and will be laid to rest alongside her late husband at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Dixon, Illinois. A Celebration of Life will be held this summer, with details to be announced at a later date.
Those who knew Pat will remember her warmth, her dedication to family, and how she touched the lives of everyone she met with kindness and love.
