Paul Hurst, 61, of Findlay, Ohio went home to be with his Savior on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 in the comfort of his own home in the company of his loving wife.
Paul was born on July 10, 1959 in Painesville, Ohio, to the late Thomas and Marjorie (Hayward) Hurst. He married the love of his life Patty Dixon on December 18, 1981 in Mentor, Ohio and she survives in Findlay. Also surviving are his children: Paul Samuel (Tara) Hurst of Brighton, Colorado, Timothy (Amanda) Hurst of Taylors, South Carolina, Jessica (Ryan) Yoder of Findlay, Ohio and Danielle (Micah) Pretlove of Inman, South Carolina; grandchildren: Ellorie, Claire, Addison, Nicholas, Julianna, Wesley and Veronica; siblings: Carol (Paul) Beverly, Tom (Carol) Hurst, Nancy (Don) Gallion and Dan (Luanne) Hurst.
Paul graduated from Bob Jones University with his Bachelors of Science in Accounting and worked as a CPA for over 20 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Findlay. Paul enjoyed woodworking, building, and repairing things with “creative” solutions. He loved connecting, socializing and being around people. Paul had a passion for teaching and led high school Choir and Bible Class at Wayside Christian School in Bucyrus, Ohio and then at East Moline Christian School in Illinois. He zealously sang and used his God-given voice to lead God’s people in worship in the churches in which he served. Paul was devoted to his family. He had a contagious laugh, smile, and always had a way to lighten up a room. While all of these things were important to Paul, the most important thing to him was sharing his faith that Jesus came to live perfectly and rescue all who would trust in Him alone and accept His free gift.
Visitation for Paul will be on Saturday, February 27, 2021 from 10:00 until the time of his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 2000 Broad Ave., Findlay, Ohio 45840, with Pastor Gordon Dickson, officiating.
