Phillip Umbs

Phillip Brian Umbs, 62, of Findlay passed away peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2022 at Briar Hill Health Campus.

Phil was born on April 21, 1960 in Findlay, Ohio. He is survived by his mother Vivian (Marvin) Lee, his brothers: Michael (Sheila) Umbs and Joseph (Mary) Umbs both of Findlay and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Dan Umbs.

Although Phil was only expected to live to the age of eight, he was able to “beat the odds” even graduating from Findlay High School in 1979. Anyone that knew Phil, knew of his great passion for fishing and being outdoors in nature. He spent many days… and nights fishing with his good friend Jeremy Walter. Despite all his trials with illness, Phil was still able to enjoy life! From many helicopter rides, to karaoke and especially spending time at family gatherings, Phil experienced many wonderful endeavors. Phil was a gentle spirit with a kind heart. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and the family cat Squeaker.

Visitation for Phillip will be on Friday, October 7, 2022 from 10:00 until the time of his Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM in the Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Ave., Findlay, Ohio 45840. Interment will follow in the Knollcrest Cemetery.
