Rebekah L. Downing

Rebekah L. Downing 90, of Findlay, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2020 at the Briar Hill Health Campus, North Baltimore.

Rebekah was born on January 19, 1930 in Leesburg, Ohio to the late Mark and Enola (Waln) Shonkwiler. She married William R. Downing on April 18, 1959 and he survives. Also surviving are her two children: Russell (Kimberly) Downing of Petersburg, Michigan and Annette (Keith) Williamson of Findlay; grandchildren: Eric (Tess) Downing, Jordan Downing, Emily (Eric) Barnes-Hanna and Madelynn (Jeremy) Whitman and great grandchildren: Cole, Jory, Parker and Deacon. She was preceded in death by a grandson Nathan Williamson.

Rebekah was a Librarian at Westwood Elementary in Washington Local Schools and was a member of the Blissfield First United Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing, bird watching and spending her winters in Florida.  Rebekah was known for her delicious pies and the most important part of Rebekah’s life was her family, especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
