Rex and Ellen Atherton

Rex and Ellen Atherton, of Arlington, and formerly of Findlay and Tiffin, passed away unexpectedly on May 23, 2024.

Rex was born on December 11, 1948 to the late Leland and Peggy (VanHouten) Atherton in Mount Vernon, Ohio. Ellen was born on September 14, 1951 to the late Marion and Alice (Garrad) Pillow also of Mount Vernon, Ohio.

Rex and Ellen are survived by their children Amanda (Chad) Carper and Steven (Karyn) Atherton; grandchildren: Madeline, Jacklyn, Brandon, and Kaitlyn. Both Rex and Ellen were preceded in death by their parents.

Rex enjoyed going fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Ellen enjoyed reading and writing along with working in her gardens. Both Rex and Ellen were members of the New Life Assembly of God Church in Findlay, Ohio. They both enjoyed spending time with their grandchildren and they will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.  Memorial Contributions may be gifted to the Wounded Warrior Project
