Robert Mains, 87, of Findlay passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center.
Robert was born on October 14, 1933 in Findlay, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Martha (Burnap) Mains. He married Donna Craft on June 19, 1963 in Findlay, Ohio and she preceded him in death on March 5, 2013. Robert is survived by his children: Jennie (Eldon) Cramer, Julie (Jerry) Hoffman and Andy (Yvette) Mains all of Findlay; grandchildren: Kaelee (Andrew) Jonelis, Lauren (Stephen) Sinchok, Megan (Don) Wills, Kurtis Gibson, Sarah Cramer and Samantha Cramer; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren and siblings: Janette (Marvin) Treece, David (Grace) Mains, Shirley Miller, Helen (Ivan) Thomas, Mary (Buck) Sudlow, John (Nadine) Mains, Tom (Dixie) Mains, Beverly (Dale) George and Judy Mains. He was preceded in death by his son Duane Mains; brothers Paul and Charles Duane Mains; and sister Sue Mains.
Robert was a Product Scheduler at Marathon retiring after 36 years of service. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army serving in Japan and the Philippines during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Findlay and the Findlay F & AM Lodge #227. Robert was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and enjoyed fishing in Canada, gardening and could always be found sitting on his front porch greeting everyone with a smile that came by. The most important part of Robert’s life was his family. He cherished the time he spent with them.
A Private Service will be held in the Hanneman Funeral Home, 201 Osborn Ave., Findlay, Ohio 45840. Interment will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery.
