Robert E. Roemelen Jr. , 80, of Fostoria and formerly of Fremont passed away peacefully Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Tiffin Mercy Hospital with his children holding his hands.
Rob was born on January 19, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Rita (Boes) and Robert E. Roemelen.
Rob loved Nascar, hunting and being with family, but the one hobby he had, which upset the family was keeping empty boxes full of boxes, every coffee can and jars never knowing when you might need it. He had many jobs in his life. But the last few were Krupp and Atlas in Fostoria and Whirpool in Clyde, where he retired as an electrician.
At the age of 20, he married Allamae Bartron on October 26, 1962 and started his own family, Robert E. (Chnea “Yoyo”) Roemelen III of Fremont, Charles E. “Chucky” who has passed and Tina Mae Peroni of Fostoria; grandchildren: Bridget Roemelen and Taylor Mae Slone both of Fostoria (Who took great care of her Papa); great-granddaughter who he adored Aubree Slone of Fostoria; two step grandchildren Trae Marks of Fort Worth, Texas and Lacey Marks of Tiffin’ siblings: Michael (Kay) Roemelen, David McGaha, Neal (Heidi) McGaha, Danny McGahah, Philip McGaha, Elain Brown, Mary Helen Desko and Shirline Caven. He was preceded in death by his wife Allamae, step father Luther McGaha and followed to Heaven, his favorite cousin Ronnie Dickey.
A Memorial Gathering will be held in Robert’s honor on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 11:00 - 1:00 PM in the Hanneman-Chudzinski-Keller Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch St., Fremont, Ohio 43420. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Clyde.
