Robert (Bob) W. Baker, 92, of Fremont, OH, passed away peacefully at Bethesda Care Center on Saturday, November 11, 2023. Bob was born on May 6, 1931 in Green Springs, OH. He was the youngest of 5 children born to Franklin N. and Aleta (Insley) Baker.
Bob was a veteran of the US Air Force, in which he was a jet mechanics instructor during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Audrey M. Stiles, in 1952 in Amarillo, Texas. They spent just shy of 62 beautiful years together until she went home to be with the Lord in 2014.
Bob was a Journeyman Millwright at Whirlpool Corp. in Clyde, OH for 44 ½ years. He was given special recognition for perfect attendance! He enjoyed traveling, going to swap meets, working on cars and anything to do with working with his hands.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, his parents, sisters Dora Perry and Claribel Rathbun and brothers Clarence, who was killed in combat during WWII, and Raymond.
He is survived by his loving and beloved son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Karradiene, 2
grandchildren, Andrea and Brandon, 5 great-grandchildren, Kaytlynn, Elijah, Braden, Nevaeh and Riley, 1 great, great-grandchild, Eila, nieces Sharon and Tina and special nephew, Lonnie (Ayako) Bowling.
Visitation will be Friday, November 17th from 10a-12p at Hanneman-Keller Funeral Home, 416 S Arch St, Fremont, OH. Services will begin at 12:00 pm. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, 1793 W McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH with military honors. The family wishes to thank Bethesda Care Center for providing excellent care during his time with them.
