It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rose E. Maye, who departed this world on August 16, 2025, at the age of 69. Born on September 23, 1955, in Garrett, Kentucky, to the late Lovel and Evelena (Gibson) Brown. Rose lived a life filled with love and dedication, making her home in Willard, Ohio, where she touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness.
She married Rodney Maye and together they were able to spend over 40 years loving one another.
Rose worked as a grill cook at Varsity Club, where she contributed her skills and passion for food to serve her community.
Above all, she cherished her family. Rose is survived by her beloved children: Evelyn (Chad) Barnhart, Millie Moore, Stacey Tackett, and Jason (Heather) Maye; Grandchildren, Tyler (Megan) Barnhart, Caleb (Adelyn) Barnhart, Alyssa Barnhart, Jerry Tackett, Autumn Tackett, Candy Tackett, Ethan Moore, and Addyson Moore; Great-Grandchildren, Myles Moore, Layla Barnhart, Oliver Barnhart, and Charlotte Barnhart; Siblings, Charles and Ruth. Also surviving is her bonus-daughter, Tammy (Bill) Linville.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rodney; her brothers, Clarence and Roger Brown; and also her Son-in-Law, Jerry Tackett.
A memorial service honoring Rose's vibrant life will be held on September 2, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Hanneman Funeral Home in Attica. Prior to the service, there will be a public viewing from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location, allowing friends and family to pay their respects and celebrate the incredible woman that Rose was. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery on State Route 99.
