Ruby J (Baughman) Sproul

Ruby Sproul, 93, of Fort Wayne, IN formerly Bowling Green, OH passed away May 30, 2023.  She was born on August 20, 1929 to the late Dwight and Verla (Pickering) Baughman.  She married Joseph Sproul on August 22, 1948 and they were together until his passing on December 10, 2020.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Robert) Colcord of Fort Wayne, IN; sons: Jerry (Sharon) Sproul of Fort Wayne, IN and Larry (Lisa) Sproul of Gainesville, GA; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe (Joyce) Baughman; son-in-law Richard Sievert. She was preceded in death by her parents: Dwight and Verla; sister, Mildred Mannik; husband, Joe; and daughter, Vicki Sievert.

Ruby was a teacher at Otsego Schools.  She enjoyed completing Sudoku and crossword puzzles. She volunteered at the University of Findlay Mazza Museum, Fort Meigs in Perrysburg, and at the LPGA Jamie Farr Classic. Ruby was involved in the Young Writers and was choir director at the Waynesfield Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions in her honor may be gifted to Findlay Mazza Museum.

Visitation for Ruby will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 10:00 am until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 am at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, 1460 W Wooster Street, Bowling Green.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada, Ohio. For those unable to attend in person the funeral will live stream via Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home Facebook page.
