Ruth Bloor, 90, of Deshler, passed away at her home on August 29, 2024. She was born on August 18,1934, the daughter of Alexander and Pearl (Corey) Davison, both parents have preceded her in death. In 1957, she married Sidney Bloor, and he passed away in 1996, after 39 years of marriage.
Ruth was a teacher, and taught math to high school students at Patrick Henry High School. She was a much loved and respected educator and loved her kids. She also, along with Sidney, owned Bloor Funeral Home in Deshler, they helped many families through a hard time in their lives. She loved reading novels, and was a member of Parkside Christian Fellowship in Deshler (formerly Parkside Presbyterian), she was a woman of faith.
Ruth is survived by a daughter; Lynn (Tim) Dobi of PA., a son; Dan Bloor of Mechanicsburg, PA., a sister; Elizabeth Holscher of Rockford Ohio, and a brother; Alexander Davison of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming. She has 10 grandchildren; Jacob, Iain, Rachael, Amanda, Andrea, Taylor, Sara, Danny, Reena, Luke and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, John Davison, and her daughter, Elizabeth Edminster.
Friends may call at Parkside Christian Fellowship Center, 140 W Maplen St., Deshler Ohio 43516, on Tuesday September 3, from 3-7 pm. A funeral service will be held at Parkside on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 11 am officiated by Pastor Andy Borgelt. Interment will follow service at Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.
