Ruth Margaret (Simmons) Vermillion

Ruth Margaret (Simmons) Vermillion, 95, passed away on August 17, 2022 at 11:00 pm, at Primrose Retirement Community, She was born on April 28, 1927, in Lima, the daughter of Elmer and Lula (Weaks) Voss. Both parents preceded her in death. On June 4, 1950 she was married to Robert Simmons, and he preceded her in death on November 11, 1976. On November 20, 1986, Ruth married Ira (Glen) Vermillion, and he passed away on March 6, 1997.

Ruth was primarily a homemaker, and she had also worked at Lima Westinghouse, and Lima City Schools at Roosevelt. She was a graduate of Lima South High School in 1945,  and a former member of Westside United Methodist Church. She was also a Life Member of both American Legion Post 96, and VFW Post 1275 Auxiliaries.

Ruth is survived by a daughter; Nancy (John) Kuck, of Lima, her grandchildren; JT (Kristina) Kuck, Jason (Marie) Kuck, Heather (Ryan) Guth, and Trevor (Julie) Simmons. She had 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons; Robert (Rob) Simmons, and Ron Simmons along with a brother Robert, two sisters-in-law’s; Kate and Marilyn and a brother-in-law Darrel.

Friends may call at HANNEMAN-SIFERD FUNERAL HOME 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima Ohio 45805 on Monday August 22, 2022 from 10 am to 12pm, with a Funeral Service at 12:00pm, officiated by Pastor Lori Wright of Shawnee United Methodist.
