Sara Mae Young

Sara Mae Young, 42, of Bowling Green, Ohio, passed away at home on June 3, 2025. Born on August 25, 1982, in Point Pleasant, WV, Sara was a beloved daughter, sister, and mother. She leaves behind her sons: Gunner (Margo) Duffey and Blake Witchey, who will carry her memory with them always.

Sara is also survived by her loving parents, Jim and Cheryl Young; her siblings, Larry Young, Christy (Donnie) Yeager, and James Denver (Carlena) Young; along with her adored nieces and nephews: Isabella Yeager, Haley Young, Alexander Young, and Sawyer Young. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, who welcomed her with open arms.

Sara graduated from St. Clairsville High School in Belmont County, OH, and fought bravely against Type I diabetes and other health challenges over the years. She was baptized at Christ Church in Bowling Green.  Sara had a passion for cooking, nurturing her plants, and gardening, and loved spending time with family.

Contributions her Sara's honor may be gifted to Christ Church, 14455 Campbell Hill Rd, Bowling Green. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 10:00 am until the time of her funeral  service at noon at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, Bowling Green.  Interment will immediately follow at Wood County Memory Gardens.
