Scott T. Wilkens beloved son, grandson, brother, and friend, age 58, passed away on November 28, 2022 after long battle with cancer. Born November 23, 1964 in Brooklyn, New York to Thomas C. Wilkens and Arline (Carlson) Venner.
Scott was a 1982 graduate of Ravenna High School. He served his country in the Army from 1984-1985, and in the Air Force National Guard from 1986-1987. He went on to be a 1991 graduate of Oakland Community College in MI with an associate's degree in Nursing (LPN). He worked 27 years as a homecare nurse for quadriplegic patients. He was a dedicated, compassionate caregiver and became not only the nurse for each patient he cared for, but a friend of the family. He was an avid coin collector and stamp collector, and loved in particular WWII history and memorabilia. He loved books and spent many hours reading and learning.
Scott is survived by his father, Thomas C. Wilkens of Salem, OH; his sisters Nancy (Wilkens) Sourvanos of Columbus, OH, and Carolynn (Wilkens) Miller of Forest, OH; his brother Eric Wilkens of Columbus, OH; stepsisters Leslie Paxton of Panama City, FL, and Shanna Wallace of Knoxville, TN; stepbrother David Venner of Knoxville, TN; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Arline Venner, and grandmother, Edith Fisher.
Scott had so many, many friends. But, whether you were a lifelong friend or new friend, Scott went out of his way to make everyone feel special by giving them unique gifts or sharing a meal, especially if French fries was on the menu. He never forgot a special date or birthday. He will be missed by so many, too many to count.
Services for Scott will be private and announced at later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, 1460 West Wooster St, Bowling Green, OH.
