Sherry Elaine Sprague Velez, 77, of Leipsic, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023 in the comfort of her own home surrounded by those she loved.
Sherry was born on September 9, 1946 in Lodi, Ohio to the late George and Thelma (Bungard) Schlarb. She married Robert Sprague and they later divorced. She then married the asshole Velez and they were later divorced.
Family meant everything to Sherry, and her children, Michelle Sprague, Robin (Jim) Dick, Sammie (Gregg) Reed and Brandy (Tony) Bolen; were the pride and joy of her life. She showered them with love and support, always encouraging them to pursue their dreams. Sherry's nurturing nature extended to her role as "MawMaw" to her 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, bringing joy and laughter to their lives. She is also survived by her siblings: Timothy (Ginger) and Billy Schlarb and her beloved canine Shiloe (The douche) and Sadie. She was preceded in death by her brother Gary Schlarb and sister-in-law Evlyn (Mason) Schlarb.
Sherry worked at Hearthside Solutions in McComb for 34 years of service.
In her free time, Sherry enjoyed gathering with her family, especially during the holiday season. Her cooking skills were legendary, with her cheesecake being a highlight of many family gatherings. Sherry's infectious laughter and sassy remarks filled the room with warmth and love. Her passing has left a void in the lives of those who knew and loved her. She was a beacon of light, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
