Susan Fay ElAnani, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, passed away on January 24, 2026, at the age of 71. Born on May 17, 1954, Sue was the cherished daughter of Hal and Arlene Fay, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Adam ElAnani, and his wife, Mary; her two grandchildren, Vivian and Amelia; and many friends who will miss her deeply.
After graduating Morenci High School , Michigan, class of 1972, Sue attended St. Vincent School of Nursing and dedicated 35 years of service as a surgical nurse at the Medical College of Ohio / University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC).
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Sue developed a talent for needlework and delighted in creating beautiful cross-stitch and crocheted pieces for her loved ones. Sue's other passions included tending to her flower garden and spending time with her beloved Frenchie, Mr. Tillman.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses, doctors, and respiratory therapists in the ICU at Wood County Hospital for their exceptional care and support during her final days.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 10:00 am until the time of her Celebration of Life service at 12:00 pm at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home in Bowling Green. A reception will follow at the funeral home's banquet hall.
In honor of Sue's legacy, the family invites contributions to be made to the Toledo Humane Society or The Northwest Ohio Salvation Army.
