Thelma E. (Ruch) Simmons, 66, of Lima, passed away on September 28, 2024, at 11:25 am at Kindred Hospital Lima. She was born on July 19, 1958, the daughter of William O., and Mary (Scott) Ruch. Both parents preceded her in death. On October 22, 1982, she married Daniel Simmons Sr., and he passed away on March 17, 2023. They had a 40- year marriage and loved each other very much.
Thelma worked as a security guard at Proctor and Gamble in Lima. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Thelma enjoyed her weekly bingo. She truly enjoyed her family and friends, and she will be sorely missed. She was a kindhearted person, who gave of herself to others and set an example for others to follow.
Thelma is survived by her sons; William Ruch, Daniel Simmons Jr., and Matthew Simmons, and a special son, Clyde Anthony Moore. She has one grandson; Clyde Ian Moore. Also surviving are sisters-in-law; Lisa Dye, Darla Butler, Denise Simmons, Tina (Rich) Marlatt. Brother-in-law; Hoyt Simmons and host of loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by a son; Christopher: her brother; William “Bub” Ruch: and her sisters; Jane Dye, and Helen Booth; and a brother-in-law; Donald Dye, a sister-in-law; Deborah Tallman, brother-in-law; Marty Butler.
