Thomas Clymer Obituary

Thomas Joe Clymer, 74, of Findlay, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021. He was born March 17, 1946 to Marion Benjamin and Margaret Mae (Pearsell) Clymer.

Tom was a 1965 graduate of Liberty Benton High School. On September 25, 1965 he married the love of his life, Sharon Ann Pore. They raised their three children near Benton Ridge.

Tom retired as a tire builder from Cooper Tire in 2007.

Tom loved nothing more than time spent with family, trips to Amish Country, the Great Smoky Mountains, watching his grandkids’ sporting events, classic car and tractor shows, outdoor forays, and family meals followed by endless laugher to that night’s episode of AFV. He enjoyed the nostalgia of classic western and crime television programs as well as having a knack for the latest gadgets.

Through all of the trials and tribulations in life, his faith in God never wavered. He loved to attend Sunday school and church services at St. John Mennonite Church. He was also a very giving and sweet soul. He loved to take cookies and treats to his family and the staff at dialysis. You couldn’t say no when there was a bag of candy involved.

Tom is survived by his children, Deborah (Neil) Brown, Thomas (Tammy) Clymer Jr., and Jason (Sarah) Clymer; grandchildren, Tyler Brown, Jacob Brown, Joshua Clymer, Katelyn Clymer, and Amanda Clymer; his siblings, Nellie (Jim) Decker, Bud (Judi) Clymer, Marion (Kay) Clymer, Margaret Rose Clymer, Jane (Claude) Mathers, and Sara (Rob) Bergman.

Tom is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon, and parents, Marion and Margaret Clymer.

A family visitation will take place and a graveside service will be held at Benton Ridge Cemetery with Pastor Paul Perkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan B. Komen Foundation in memory of Tom and Sharon. The family would like to thank everyone that took care of Tom while in the hospital and Kenton Nursing and Rehab as well as the amazing staff at dialysis that gave him the best care.
