Vernon Eugene Clark

Vernon Eugene (Gene) Clark, 97, of McComb passed away on  September 18,2021.

Gene was born to the late Ralph and Edna (Hawk) Clark on January 28, 1924. On January 13, 1946 he married Marilyn Inbody and she preceded him in death in 1990. He is also preceded in death by brother Max Clark and son James Clark and a step grandson, Michael Jordon.

Gene was a 1942 graduate of Findlay High School. He served in the U.S. Army 1944-1946 and is a member of VFW Post 9231 in McComb, OH.  and American Legion Post 511. He was a truck driver and retired after 35 years at Coastal Tank. He served as an EMT member of the McComb Fire Dept.

In his younger years, Gene and his brother, Max participated in Bronc riding at rodeos and fairs around Ohio. He worked on the Clark family farm after retirement and lived there until his death.

Surviving are his daughter Diana Paes (Harry, deceased) of Sun City West, AZ, son Daryl Clark (Barbara) Continental, OH, daughter-in-law Diane Bishop Clark, McComb, three grandchildren; Sheila Clark, Ian Clark (Lisa), and Keith Clark (Sam), three great grandchildren, one great great grandchild. Gene is also survived by four step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, and one step great great grandchild.

Visitation for Gene will be on Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 9:00 until the time of his funeral service at 12 Noon in the Hanneman Funeral Home, 370 Park Dr S., McComb, Ohio 45858, with Pastor Rick Broughton, officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, where Military honors will be rendered by the Hancock County Memorial Squad.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gene’s honor to the charity of the donor’s choice.
