Vicki Stuckert Obituary

Vicki Lynn Wagner Stuckert, 73, of Findlay, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at The Heritage.

Vicki was born on April 9, 1952, in Fremont, Ohio to the late Lauren and Marie (Houghton) Wagner, and she grew up in Pemberville, Ohio. She married Tom Stuckert on October 12, 1974, in Prout Chapel, Bowling Green State University, and he survives. Also surviving are her children, Carrie (Dan) Wilkinson of Toledo, and Joshua Stuckert of Findlay. She is also survived by her sister, Colleen. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Lonna.

Vicki was a 1970 graduate of Eastwood High School, Bowling Green State University B.S. Ed., and the University of Findlay, M.A. Ed.

During Vicki’s thirty-year teaching career, she taught special education at every grade level (Kindergarten through high school) in five different school districts. She also taught in an outdoor education program at the Rieck Center for Habitat Studies. Vicki focused much of her teaching on science and the environment and enjoyed taking her students on field trips that involved hiking, camping, canoeing, fishing, and any geological expedition you could think of.

Vicki retired from public school teaching in 2003 and devoted much of her time to music. She played piano from an early age and performed at school programs and other events. She became a passionate mountain dulcimer player and teacher with dulcimer groups in Findlay and Bluffton as well as festivals in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. She also traveled to rural areas in Virginia and North Carolina where she discovered lessor known musicians and their music. She arranged music for ten mountain dulcimer songbooks in which she self-published.

At the request of the family, there will be no visitation or memorial service.

Memorial contributions may be made in Vicki’s honor to The Mazza Museum at The University of Findlay. Donations can be mailed to 201 College St., Findlay, Ohio 45840.

The Family would like to thank the staff at The Heritage for the loving care they gave Vicki during the past three years.
