Vicky Miller Obituary

In Loving Memory of Vicky R. Miller
November 27, 1972 – April 10, 2025

With hearts filled with love and sorrow, we share the passing of Vicky R. Miller, a cherished wife, devoted mother, proud Mam-Maw, and loyal friend. Vicky passed away on April 10, 2025, at the age of 52, of Lima, Ohio, surrounded by the love that she so freely gave to others every single day of her life.

Born on November 27, 1972, to Kennith and Violet (Thompson) Gipson, Vicky was a bright light from the very beginning. She grew up with a deep love for her family and an open heart for everyone she met. Though she was preceded in death by both of her parents, as well as her maternal and paternal grandparents, their love and strength lived on through her in countless ways.

Vicky married her soulmate, Donald Miller, on February 11, 2007, a union that brought together two hearts meant for each other. Their love was steadfast, joyful, and filled with the kind of quiet magic that only true soulmates share.

Family was Vicky’s everything. She was the proud and loving mother of six children: Carrie Dove and Kaitlen Miller of Lima, Makenzie (Jason) Willman of Republic, OH, Mekayla (Nick) Kelly of Athens, OH, Dameon “Kody” (Bridgette) Dove of Harrod, OH, and Troy Wisher of Ledlow, OH. She also leaves behind her two brothers, Tony Gipson of Lima and Kevin Gipson of Indian Lake, OH.

To her 12 grandchildren, with one more on the way, she was Mam-Maw—a name spoken with joy, laughter, and love. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and her love for them was boundless and unconditional.

Vicky graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1992 and later earned her certification in phlebotomy from Lima Technical College. She served the Lima community for many years as a skilled and compassionate phlebotomist at Lima Path Lab, known for her gentle spirit and caring heart.

A true free spirit, Vicky found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved bluegrass music, going barefoot, tending to her garden, cooking up her signature “Vicky Made” meals, and traveling—especially to her beloved Kentucky, her favorite place on earth. She never missed an episode of Little House on the Prairie, and always had something to say about her favorite talk shows. Her passions reflected the depth of her soul—honest, grounded, and full of heart.

Above all, Vicky was known for the love she gave so freely. She never left a room, a phone call, or a visit without saying “I love you”—and she meant it every single time. Her words were not just a habit, but a genuine reflection of the deep affection she carried for those around her.

Her faith as a Protestant grounded her, and her warmth lifted others. Whether you knew her for a moment or a lifetime, you knew that you were cared for.

Memorial contributions can be made out to her grandchildren in "Mam-Maw" memory, in honor of a cherished grandmother, whose love and guidance will always be remembered by her grandchildren. In solidarity the family also ask that everyone wears something orange, which was her favorite color.
