William "Bill" David Gault, 86, of Findlay, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born on September 14, 1939 in Findlay, Ohio, to the late Cloyde and Ruth (Jones) Gault. He met the love of his life, Maridell (Hite), on a blind date on May 9, 1959 at a Youth for Christ event and they were married on December 23, 1959. She preceded him in death on January 3, 2024, after 64 wonderful years of marriage. Bill is survived by his children: James (Beth) Gault, Deborah Gault, Elisabeth Gault, and David (Teresa) Gault; grandchildren: Amanda, Matthew, Ming, Nina, Christopher, and Hunter; great-grandchildren: Joan, Willie, Carmen, Mason, Leland, Autumn, Vanessa, and Lily; and sisters: Beverley Cooper, and Barbara (Larry) Bishop; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was a servant of the Lord. He was a faithful member of the Upper Room Church of God and prior to that was a longtime member of East Foulke Avenue Church of God and StoneBridge Church. Bill and Maridell were a vital part of the beginning of CHOPIN Hall, helping those in a time of need. They were members of the Pioneer Auto Club for 57 years, as well as the Crosley Automotive Club for 47 years. They enjoyed traveling and camping, making it to 49 states - missing only Oregon.
Bill was known to be quiet and calm, with a wink and a twinkle in his eyes, and never met a stranger. He enjoyed going to car shows, participating in parades, and talking about his old cars. He loved his family and friends dearly. He also leaves behind his four cats: Blackie, Sadie, Midnight, and Boudreau.
