William "Bill" Steele

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William Thomas Steele "Bill" , born on January 27, 1937, in Welch, West Virginia. Bill, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully departed this life on July 25, 2026, at the age of 89.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Steele, and their children, Harry (Lisa) Steele and Loreli Balraj. He will be remembered fondly by his grandchildren: James, Molly, John, Emily, Jessica, and Brittni, along with his 15 great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Gracie Steele, as well as his sons, Richard and Michael, and son-in-law Timothy.

Bill graduated from Welch High School in West Virginia, he dedicated 28 years of his life to the grocery industry as a Produce Manager at Food Town. Bill was known for his love of camping, where he created cherished memories with his family, and his passion for country music, which brought warmth and joy to his life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor at the Bethany Baptist Church, 14070 Bailey Rd, Grand Rapids, OH 43522 on July 29, 2026, at 11:00 am. We invite family and friends to join us in remembering and celebrating the life of William Thomas Steele.
