Willie Mae Barcus, 73, of Lima, went to be with God on January 23,2024, at 6:13 pm at St. Ritas Medical Center. She was born on February 24, 1950, in Lima, the daughter of John and Bessie (Roseborough) Austin Sr. Both parents preceded her in death. On August 19, 1966, she was married to Otto Barcus Jr., and he survives in Lima. They were married for 57 wonderful years; he was the love of her life.
Mae was a homemaker; she truly loved her family and showed it every day. She was a Member of Kibby St. Church of Christ, and lived her faith in how she cared for her family. She was an avid bowler, past girls’ softball coach, and she loved family gatherings. She was beloved by her family and many friends; she was affectionately known as “Aunt Mae.” Mae will be truly missed by the many who knew her.
In addition to Otto, Mae is survived by two daughters: Tracy (Michael) Davis, of Columbus Ohio, and Tresa Stewart of Lima; Grandchildren; Darrein, Tristen, Austin, Camrin, and Preston, and a great-grandchild; Dawson. Her siblings are: Venista Austin of Lima, John (Magda) Austin Jr., of Lima, and Ivory Austin Sr., of Lima. Her “Special Niece;” Andrea (Marvin) Little, and a whole host of nieces and nephews. Mae was preceded in death by her son-in-law; Chris Stewart; siblings; Victor Austin and Mamie Austin.
