Wilma Rae Howton, 80, of Lima passed away on October 14, 2023 at her residence. Wilma was born on September 2, 1943, in Harlan Ky., to Vernell Howton, and Mildred (Ward) Howton. Both parents have preceded her in death.
Wilma was an operator at United Telephone Company and retired after 30 years of service. She was a member of 2nd Baptist Church, and a faithful, humble servant of God. She was also an avid reader, and a family-oriented woman, she adored her family and loved spending time with them.
Wilma is survived by her daughters; Felicia (Dave) Forrest of Lima, Chalonda Howton, of Canal Winchester, Ohio: sons; Ollice (Patricia) Howton Sr., of Hinesville GA., and Steve (Elizabeth) Howton, of Ft Wayne, IN. She also raised 3 grandchildren; Brooks Howton, Andrea Amerson, and Antione Amerson, and she has 8 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren. Her siblings include; Betty Howton, Brian Ward, and Pastor Dennis (LaVonne) Ward. Her two best friends; Roy Johnson, and Sharon Kizer, also live on to cherish her memory, along with her “Special niece,” Tkesha (Kesha Nut) Bank. Wilma was preceded in death by a daughter; Sonya Lynn Howton, two brothers; Robert “Bobby” Howton, and Michael D. Ward; and her grandson; Drayton Johnson. Her step-father Jimmie Lee Ward also preceded her in death. Her two best friends; Roy Johnson, and Sharon Kizer, also live on to cherish her memory,
Friends may call at HANNEMAN-SIFERD FUNERAL HOME, 506 N. Cable Rd Lima Ohio 45805, on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 from 11AM-1 pm, with Services to begin at 1PM officiated by Pastor Dennis Ward. Memeorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's. As was her wish, Wilma was cremated, and there will be no interment of cremated remains.
